International Coastal Cleanup Day 2018

The 2018 International Coastal Cleanup Day, with Negril Chamber of Commerce members & staff, Negril residents, students and teachers participating, was held from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Participants met at the Negril Community Centre on Norman Manley Boulevard.

Last year’s 2017 International Coastal Cleanup Day (ICC Day) in Negril was deemed a great success with 108 volunteers cleaned up 1,785 pounds of garbage off the Negril coastline.  This year’s statistics are still being totaled, but there was a major increase in volunteers this year, so the amount of coastal garbage cleaned up should be significantly greater.

Kudos to all the volunteers and sponsors that dedicated their time and efforts enabling a successful day of Coastal garbage cleanup.  Special kudos go to the many community spirited students and teachers that participated in this year’s 2018 International Coastal Cleanup Day.  Hopefully, all Jamaican residents will make a personal decision to not throw garbage and take heed to “Nuh Dutty Up Jamaica”.

Here is a list of 2018 International Coastal Cleanup Day volunteers and sponsors:
