Rastafari RootzFest 2018 was held Friday to Sunday, December 14th to 16th, 2018 at Long Bay Beach Park, Norman Manley Boulevard in Negril.  This was the fourth annual Rastafari RootzFest in Negril.  You will find posted in this Jamaican Business Directory Article videos of Photo Gallery of the Venue, Seminars, and Sunday Ganja Cup Awards; Saturday and Sunday Seminar videos; and Sunday night African Descendant Drummers.  Next year's Rastafari Rootzfest 2019 is already schedule for December 13 - 15, 2019.  If you missed this one, put Rastafarin RootzFest 2019 on your calendar and be sure to attend.

Here’s a link to a YouTube.com Video of the last seminar presentation on Saturday at Rastafari RootzFest 2018 entitled Quality Assurance Of A Tropical Ganja Farmer - Opportunities For The Traditional Farmer.  Dr. Machel Emmanuel, a research scientist at the UWI Life Science Cannabis Research Group, focused his presentation on the Ganja plant looking at quality assurance and maintaining efficacy throughout the whole cultivation / post-harvest processes and the current opportunities for the traditional farmer.

Zimmerman APC, received his undergraduate degree in philosophy from the University of Oregon, graduated from the Thomas Jefferson School of Law and a received a Master of Law from the University of Amsterdam.  His master thesis focused on the effect of bi-lateral trade agreements on the harmonization of intellectual property standards.

He is the CEO of Pure Jamaica Island Traders Limited the only approved Rastafari medical company that can dispense medical marijuana in Jamaica.

Here’s a link to a YouTube.com Video of a Sunday seminar at Rastafari RootzFest 2018 centered around the topic of Rasta Strategy.  The purpose stated by professor Charles Nesson from Harvard was "to address the question going forward of Rasta strategy in the face of resistance from government to asserting itself in a way that takes lessons from Canada, from the Assembly of First Nations in Canada." Seminar Speakers were Ras Iyah V, Charles Nesson, Dr. Kathleen Mahony professor from Calgary University, Caleb Behn an indigenous lawyer from Assembly of First Nations and Rastafarian First Man.   The standard seminar panel setup was discarded, and a Ritualistic Rastafarian circle was created.

 

 

Here’s a link to a YouTube.com Video of the last panel on Sunday which was a discussion on How Can Rastafarians Get the Benefits of Ganja? & Rastafari and Grassroots Ganja Cluster.  The Rastafarian circle continued for this last spirited discussion of the topic with many of the participants voicing their suggestions and concerns.
